This policy explains what data the app stores, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
📋 Information We Collect
Habit Tracker collects no personal information. The only data that exists is what you choose to enter into the app:
- Habit names, categories, notes, and schedules you create
- Log entries (dates, values, completion status) you record
- App preferences (theme, sort order, notification times)
All of this data is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database and local device preferences on your device.
🔒 Local Storage Only On-device
All habit data and logs are saved to a local SQLite database on your device using the sqflite library. Preferences (theme, notification settings, score window) are stored in the device's local shared preferences storage.
Neither the database file nor preference values are uploaded anywhere. The developer has no access to this data.
🔔 Notifications
Habit Tracker can send local push notifications to remind you about scheduled habits. These notifications are:
- Generated entirely on your device — no remote push service is used
- Scheduled based solely on the reminder times you configure in the app
- Controlled by your device's notification permission settings, which you can revoke at any time
📤 Backup & Export
The app provides optional backup and export features:
- Export Backup – generates a CSV file from your local data and shares it via your device's share sheet. You choose where it goes (your files, email, cloud storage, etc.). The app itself does not upload anything.
- Import Backup – reads a CSV file you select from your device and restores data locally. No data is sent anywhere during this process.
- CSV Export – copies log data to your clipboard for individual habits. This stays on your device unless you paste it elsewhere.
📊 Analytics & Third Parties
Habit Tracker does not include:
- Analytics or crash-reporting SDKs (no Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Sentry)
- Advertising networks or ad SDKs
- Social media integrations
- Any third-party service that receives your data
👶 Children's Privacy
Habit Tracker does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Because no data leaves the device, there is no server-side collection for any age group.
🗑️ Deleting Your Data
You are in full control of your data at all times:
- Delete individual habits or log entries within the app
- Use Settings → Data & Privacy → Clear Old Logs to remove logs older than 12 months
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently
🔄 Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the new version will be published at the same URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
